The Shanti Ashram
04/08/2009

Shanti Ashram is an Indian organisation working in the social and educational field, especially in rural areas. It is inspired by “Sarvodaya”, one of the key ideas of Mahatma Gandhi: the commitment to a life of dignity for everyone.
It was founded in 1986 by Doctor M Aram an eminent figure, well known nationally and internationally for his commitment to education and peace, together with his wife Minoti and other Gandhian friends.
Thousands of children benefit at the local level from the development programmes developed by the Ashram in collaboration with other humanitarian organisations.
