The Focolare Movement in Sardenia, Italy, has responded to an invitation by local bishops to join in a communion of goods in the form of money to be donated to Caritas in Buenos Aires, which is historically linked to the Italian island.
The original name of the Argentine capital, Santa Maria del Buen Ayre, St. Mary of Buenos Aires, derives from St. Mary of Bonaria who is greatly venerated by the people of Sardinia.
Caritas in Buenos Aires has called the project: A Gift To The Needy In Buenos Aires.
Focolare members in Sardinia also presented the Pope with a symbolic gift, a canvas painting (1 m. x 70 cm.) titled Trust that was painted by artist Sean Scaccia. The canvas was given along with a small text written by artist:
Trust. A leap in the darkness by a soul in the Light, defying the darkness with the plunge into Heaven’s embrace. |
Sean, grande artista e anima raffinata ! Grazie !
