Everyone has a role to play in climate justice

Marking Global Justice Day, Social Justice Ireland held a seminar on the issue of Climate Justice and Policy Coherence with a special focus on the challenge this currently presents to Ireland. Among the key note speakers at the seminar was Lorna Gold, Head of Policy and Advocacy with Trócaire, the Overseas Development Agency of the Catholic Church .

Afterwards, speaking to CatholicIreland.net, Dr Gold explained that everyone has a role to play in living and promoting climate justice and the pros and cons of the Climate Action Bill currently making its way through the Oireachtas.

Following the opening of the Cause of Beatification and Canonisation of Chiara Lubich on January 27 in the Cathedral of Frascati (Rome), their Vatican correspondent, Inés San Martín, had an extensive interview with Maria Voce, President of the Focolare, covering topics from Church unity to interreligious dialogue to the role of women in the church.

Admit One in Limerick

On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of February the youth for Unity will spend a weekend in the Millford Care Centre in Limerick. As youth for unity we want to build bridges across all the barriers that divide e.g. age, class, culture to make a united world, following Pope Francis’ invitation to reach out to others.
We are going to a centre for the elderly who are so often forgotten in our society and look forward to getting to know them and build friendships with them.

Being Eucharist for others

A meeting for priests organized by the Focolare Movement on Friday 20th February 2015, in the Focolare Centre of Prosperous, Co. Kildare, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
All priests are welcome.
This year’s meeting will explore the Eucharist both from the point of view of priests’ spirituality today and the ministry to young people who face the challenges of an increasingly secular culture. There will be opportunity for discussion and feed-back.
