“I’ve always had confidence in young people:
they are the world’s future!
They are made for great ideals
and are capable of pursuing them in a radical way.
What attracts them most is the Gospel that becomes life
and thus fulfills the promises it contains.
They are fascinated by the ideal of a united world.
The youth themselves – young adults, teen-agers and children, too –
transmit this ideal to their peers".
Chiara Lubich
Young people aim high. With their experiences of life, they transmit their ideal of unity in ways that appeal to their peers: music, artistic presentations, sports and cultural activities. They do this in small groups as well as through the most varied solidarity projects and large international gatherings. They make use of all the means of communications: live tv broadcasts, international link-ups via satellite, and Internet. They sponsor a wide variety of micro-projects for solidarity and peace, on the national and international scale.
The teen-agers strive to communicate their experience of unity; their enthusiasm and creativity puts them on the frontline in spreading the ideal of a united world.
Children are capable of communicating their evangelical ideal to their peers through the most varied initiatives, but above all, through their experiences. Often, their evangelical mentality touches the hearts of the grown-ups.
