our Yes to God

Annemarie BaumgartenHow to answer with love
to God’s love for us?
These words of Jesus:
"Not he who says Lord, Lord,
will enter the kingdom of Heaven,
but he who does the Will of my Father
in Heaven..."(Mt.7,21) were deeply
rooted in our minds.

It was a question of doing
God’s will, therefore.
This did not mean to be "resigned"
as it is often understood,
but rather the greatest possible
adventure that could happen
to any person:
the adventure of following not just
one’s own will, mean as it is,
not even one’s own limited projects;
rather, to follow God and fulfil the plan
that He has for each one of His children:
a divine, unimaginable and most rich plan.

God’s will is the precious pearl.
It’s the discovery of a path
to sanctity for everyone:
each one can live it, everywhere,
in every situation and vocation.

Doing God’s will is the entrance ticket
to sanctity available to all.

(from Chiara Lubich’s writings)
