A new season is upon us! Families are beginning to shift from the routines of a regular work week to the end of the school year and the longer days of summer.
New City Press also finds itself in a shifting season.
Claude H. Blanc has been named the new Executive Director and Publisher of the organization. “This is an exciting time at New City Press'” says Blanc. “We are working diligently to assess the next best steps to take to make sure we better serve our mission and our customers.”
Blanc succeeds Jim Webber who left New City Press for retirement earlier this year. His professional background includes executive positions in book and newspaper publishing, sales and procurement at Fortune 500 corporations, as well as executive coaching.
Blanc is looking forward to developing new ideas that will expand the impact of the Press’s mission. “As a member of the Focolare myself for a number of years,” says Blanc “I’ve had the opportunity to meet other members at various events worldwide and to become very familiar with our charism.”
The mission of New City Press is to develop and promote the Focolare’s vision that all people are part of the one human family. It publishes both scholarly and popular works that attempt to foster a greater unity in the world. “The publications put out by New City Press hold messages the world desperately needs right now. The board and I hope to make those more accessible and relevant to those who are searching for them,” says Blanc.
