Chicago Gen3 Girls Cook Up Food and Fun

Girls from the Chicago area Focolare teen youth group, the Gen3 girls, recently came together to offer support and companionship to two of their Gen3 friends. The friends, who are sisters, recently underwent surgery and continue in a long rehabilitation program. Wanting to help, the other Gen3 girls came up with ways to support their friends’ family and keep up with their friends as they faced the long rehab time.

Golfing for a United World

On a recent fall weekend in Milwaukee, midwest golfers gathered to raise support for the Focolare’s North American little city, Luminosa. Luminosa is one of the Focolare’s thirteen little cities from across the world. These cities offer courses of formation for participants from all ages, nationalities, and walks of life. Most importantly, though, the Focolare’s founder Chiara Lubich saw these centers as an outward sign of the Focolare’s spirituality. Those who reside at Luminosa and those who visit aim at living a Gospel based life of mutual love. The goal of their witness and work is to help build universal brotherhood among all. Luminosa is situated in the beautiful Hudson Valley near Hyde Park, New York.
