新家庭遠距離計劃駐海地SAD的聯絡人威費·祖謙·約瑟（Wilfrid Joachim Joseph）向我們報道位於海地東北Ouanaminthe奧根尼瑟山區的災情，表示：「馬修（Matthew）颱風打擊了接受（新家庭行動 AFN）遠距離計劃援助的許多兒童，即使沒有死傷，但建築物的破壞嚴重，尤其是工廠、商店，後果重大。總之，支援地點不足，無法到達窮鄉僻壤，他們多是以農業和畜牧業為生的大眾。
