Dear readers,

on December 7th, the day that commemorates Chiara Lubich’s consecration to God, the centenary of her birth was launched with the inauguration of a large exhibition in Trent. It was given ample space during the last Link Up which we recommend to those who did not have the opportunity to follow it live (http://collegamentoch.focolare.org). And there are two articles about it in this issue of Mariapolis (pages 11 - 13).

“Celebrating to meet”: the motto for the centenary wants to underline that Chiara’s charism is not a historical fact, but it is alive and at work in all those who are inspired by the spirit of unity. This is testified by every piece of news that we publish in our media, because they are a realisation , an incarnation and an actualization of Chiara’s Ideal today: from the Bishops of different Churches who met in Belfast (pg. 4) to the missionary in the Amazon (pg. 14); from the initiative “Together for Europe” (pg. 16) to the Sophia University Institute (pg. 15).

This motto is also an invitation, indeed an encouragement to all of us, to live in such a way that whoever meets us can meet Chiara today.
