Artists, who are part of Clarté, would like to contribute in fulfilling an art permeated with light in this cultural night of our times characterised by profound transformations. Clarté is inspired by the Chiara Lubich’s spirituality of unity and its peculiar characteristic is the dialogue among artists. According to these artists, such inspirations are also born through these relationships. Scope of the convention – If in modern and contemporary art the dominating element is “the loss of the centre”, the exclusion of every point of reference, the Convention would like to promote an art which is renewed by a human-divine and universal experience. Since this art aims at addressing man as a whole, it can therefore become a place where an integral human vision is fulfilled. The programme – In accordance with the title, the Convention will follow four tracks: restlessness, hope, light and perspectives. Among other things, it also includes: “Doctorate Lecture” addressed by Chiara Lubich on the occasion of her receiving the h.c. doctorate in Art, conferred by the Catholic University of Maracaibo (Venezuela). This will be the opening lecture of the Convention. The Brazilian sociologist Vera Araujo will give her contribution on what art can give to today’s society. “Art as the protagonist of the city”: artistic initiatives that stimulate the awakening of values and social cohesion in the most varied cultural and social contexts, such as in the city of Naples, Caracas (Venezuela) and Jerusalem, where an orchestra made up of Palestinians and Israelis. Ample space is given to dialogue in the plenary sessions as well as in groups. Conclusive moment: “Gifts of Light”, conversation of Chiara Lubich with a Hindu group (video).

Restlessness, hope, light, perspectives of the world of the Art at the centre of the 2nd International Convention, promoted by “Clarté”, 13-15th April 2007, Mariapolis Centre, Castelgandolfo (Rome)

[1
895
post-291474","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-non-categorizzato","tag-arts
["GET
