An action of Teens for Unity in all the continents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>It is a tough  programme: to \u201cwin o<\/strong><strong>ver\u201d a city<\/strong>. For some years now, \u201cRagazzi per  l\u2019unit\u00e0\u201d, (Teens for Unity), have been working in thei<a rel=\"attachment wp-att-44340\" href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/news\/2008\/01\/12\/%e2%80%9ccoloriamo-le-citta%e2%80%9d-in-tutti-i-continenti-un%e2%80%99azione-dei-ragazzi-per-l%e2%80%99unita\/080112-03-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/080112-03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>r own cities, wherever the  local community faces challenges.  <strong>Their motto joins together two words in one<\/strong>: Colori (=  colours) and Amo (= I love). (The two words together give Coloriamo = Let\u2019s  colour!). All over the world, they try to choose the drabbest areas of their  towns and cities.\u00a0 With imaginations inspired by love, their aim is to colour  them, with the think globally, act locally vision that society needs today.  <strong>In Milan the choice of the young people is a Romany gypsy  campsite<\/strong>. In Rwanda they have chosen an orphanage, the children\u2019s ward  in a hospital, and Aids sufferers. In California, in a school were racism is a  problem, they have started a club to spread a culture of respect for diversity.  In\u00a0 India, Christian and Hindu young people go to help their disabled peers.  <strong><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-44338\" href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/news\/2008\/01\/12\/%e2%80%9ccoloriamo-le-citta%e2%80%9d-in-tutti-i-continenti-un%e2%80%99azione-dei-ragazzi-per-l%e2%80%99unita\/080112-04-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"border: 0pt none;margin: 5px\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/080112-04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/strong><strong>Let\u2019s hear from a  group of young people from Africa<\/strong>, who have started to visit prisoners  in Iringa, Tanzania.  <strong>\u201cThe first challenge was to convince the  guards to let us in.<\/strong> The next one was how to bring the gifts that we  had put together in common: fruit, salt, soap\u2026.also the \u201cWord of Life\u201d leaflet,  our experiences and our songs. We walked for three kilometres before we reached  the entrance, which was guarded by police. \u2018You can\u2019t all come in\u2019, they said,  \u2018and whoever you choose, they can\u2019t sing in there\u2019. They did however let us take  our gifts in.\u201d  <strong>\u201cWe read the Word of Life with them and told them how it had changed  our lives<\/strong>. While we were speaking about the love of God, which is for  everyone and that we can love too, the guards were silent and listened. At the  end, the prisoners showed their joy with songs and dances, it was their way of  thanking us. The guards were left speechless and they asked themselves who we  were.
