A Christian contribution to the future of the Project for Europe\u201d <\/em><em>was held<\/em> in the Vatican from 27 to 29 October. It was organised by the Commission of the European Bishops\u2019 Conference (COMECE) in cooperation with the Secretary of State. \u201cThe commitment of Christians has to constitute a promise of peace,\u201d Pope Francis said at the conclusion of the works. This is not \u201ca time to build trenches, but rather, to work to fully pursue the dream of the Founding Fathers of a united and peaceful Europe, a community of peoples who want to share a future of development and peace.\u201d  <div id=\"attachment_157672\" style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/20171028_IlonaToth_IncaricataFocolari-InsiemePerLEuropa-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-157672\" class=\"wp-image-157672\" src=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/20171028_IlonaToth_IncaricataFocolari-InsiemePerLEuropa-01.jpg\" alt=\"20171028_IlonaToth_IncaricataFocolari-InsiemePerL'Europa-01\" width=\"200\" height=\"191\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-157672\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ilona Toth<\/p><\/div>  Ilona Toth also participated in the event in her capacity as representative of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/chi-siamo\/\">Focolare Movement<\/a> for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.together4europe.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cTogether for <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.together4europe.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Europe\u201d<\/a> project in which 300 Christian communities and movements and also those of various Churches all over the entire continent converge, and act in a sole network for common aims, with the contribution of their own charisms. Toth affirmed: \u201cThe project aroused great interest.
