The reason for the award states: \u201cthe Community has always worked with loyalty and passion in the peripheries of the world, in favour of the poorest and the weakest, children, elderly and disabled, the homeless, minorities, migrants and refugees,\u201d and \u201chas given an important contribution to peace in many countries struck by war and violence.
