{"id":328220,"date":"2016-04-30T04:00:55","date_gmt":"2016-04-30T02:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/education-through-the-network-to-change-the-world\/"},"modified":"2024-05-16T15:03:53","modified_gmt":"2024-05-16T13:03:53","slug":"education-through-the-network-to-change-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/education-through-the-network-to-change-the-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Education through the network to change the world"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EdU_Partecipanti.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-137892\" src=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EdU_Partecipanti.jpg\" alt=\"EdU_Partecipanti\" width=\"386\" height=\"258\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eduforunity.org\/chi-siamo.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EdU (Education in Unity)<\/a>,<strong> an international and interdisciplinary pedagogic and educational study group <\/strong>got together in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/espana\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spain <\/a>(Luminosa Mariapolis Centre) for a seminar on inclusion, the central theme.  <strong>The <\/strong><strong>Educators from Brazil, Croatia, Italy, Kenya, Burundi, Slovenia,<\/strong> Korea, Poland, Portugal, and certainly Spain, worked on three great threads: relationships, communities, arts and sports. Thanks to live streaming on the network, the Seminar was followed by people in many parts of the world, like Benin, with talks from Argentina, Mexico and the USA.  <strong>The interesting and stimulating discourses <\/strong>gave a framework to the experiences in\u00a0 really varied fields: the \u201clove dice\u201d put into practice in Burundi, the relationships established in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zraka-sunca.hr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Raggio di Sole School<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/focolare-worldwide\/europa\/croazia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Croatia<\/a>), and the Sevilla Autism Association (Spain)\u2026 or the effects of education in the community, and the education community. \u00a0In Argentina, for example, we have the school for the aborigine community. The outcome: it is the school that revives the traditions of these century-old cultures that risk oblivion, through laboratories for goldsmiths, and the manufacture of canvases and musical instruments.  <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EdU_Korea.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-137893\" src=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EdU_Korea.jpg\" alt=\"EdU_Korea\" width=\"380\" height=\"258\" \/><\/a>The variety of experiences presented was one of the strengths <\/strong>of a seminar conceived as a workshop: \u201c<em>here I see many people working together for the same objectives,\u201d <\/em>said<em> \u00a0<\/em>one of the participants who no longer felt alone in her battles. In fact, a broader network was created, which knit the participants closer, in the certainty that \u201c<em>the real job has just begun<\/em>.<em>\u201d<\/em>  <strong>It was also an occasion to get to know more about other international projects <\/strong>like <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Living-Peace-International-317874851740169\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Living Peace<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scholasoccurrentes.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scholas Occurrentes<\/a> <\/em>and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sportmeet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sportmeet<\/a><\/em>. As a contribution from the world of the art of education, the photographer and educator, Concha Casaj\u00fas, exhibited some of her works in a video denouncing the sexual abuses perpetrated in Congo.  At the end, the participants left with a greater conviction that inclusion is a lifestyle, a necessity in this complex and varied world of today, and particularly, that inclusive education is a priority in all sectors.  The Seminar was preceded by a Symposium held in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucm.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Complutense University<\/a> of Madrid on 22 April. Also dedicated to inclusion education, the opening speech was given by the Rector of the National University of Distance Education, Alejandro Tiana. Kishore Singh, Special Rapporteur of the United Nations on the Right to Education, contributed with a message of support to the event.
