{"id":329312,"date":"2017-06-28T08:21:34","date_gmt":"2017-06-28T06:21:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/living-city-receives-5-awards\/"},"modified":"2024-05-16T15:07:45","modified_gmt":"2024-05-16T13:07:45","slug":"living-city-receives-5-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/living-city-receives-5-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Living City receives 5 awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/livingcitymagazine.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-154266 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/LivingCity.jpg\" alt=\"LivingCity\" width=\"342\" height=\"215\" \/><\/a>The official magazine of the Focolare Movement in the US, <a href=\"https:\/\/livingcitymagazine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Living City<\/a>, has won 5 awards by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholicpress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Catholic Press Association of North America<\/a>. <strong>First place was awarded for \u201cBest coverage of ecumenical\/interfaith issues\u201d <\/strong>for the articles <em>\u201cGrowing together\u201d, \u201cStart bridge-building now\u201d<\/em>, and <em>\u201cA compass to guide our way&#8221;,<\/em> by Sarah Mundell, Susanne Janssen, David Shaheed and Jordan Denari.  \u201cFantastic pieces that tell compelling stories while making a statement on the larger issue of building bridges with those of other faiths,\u201d the judges commented. \u201cThe authors do an excellent job of creating articles that spur readers to think deeply and open their hearts.\u201d  <strong>Third place<\/strong> was given in the category \u201cGeneral excellence \u2014 National General Interest magazine.\u201d In the category<strong> \u201cBest interview\u201d, <\/strong>Susanne Janssen\u2019s interview with Andreas Widmer, Director of Entrepreneurship Programs at The Catholic University of America, entitled \u201cWhat is work all about?\u201d received an <strong>Honorable Mention. <\/strong>And in the category <strong>\u201cBest essay\u201d,<\/strong> both Amy Uelmen\u2019s article <em>\u201cListening beyond the echo chamber\u201d<\/em> and <em>\u201cEven being \u2018anti\u2019 can open up dialogue\u201d<\/em> by Sarah Mundell, earned <strong>Honorable Mentions<\/strong>.
