{"id":329402,"date":"2017-08-18T00:10:10","date_gmt":"2017-08-17T22:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/the-ones-with-the-white-wrist-bands\/"},"modified":"2024-05-16T15:08:03","modified_gmt":"2024-05-16T13:08:03","slug":"the-ones-with-the-white-wrist-bands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/the-ones-with-the-white-wrist-bands\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ones With The White Wrist Bands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-154684 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/teens-2.jpg\" alt=\"teens 2\" width=\"311\" height=\"207\" \/>Who like me, while wanting to give the best of themselves, has found it a little difficult\u00a0 at times? <\/strong>We wanted to treat the people around us well, but we spoke badly; we wanted to help, but our egoism got in the way.  <strong>That\u2019s why several of my friends and I came up with a solution. <\/strong>It all began with two of us who were finding it hard to always give the best of themselves, and they realized they needed to find a way to support one another\u2019s efforts, since it\u2019s easier to love and respect others when you know that there\u2019s someone else on your side that\u2019s trying to do the same. A \u201cpact\u201d was beginning to be born that would help each of us to be more constant with the challenge of giving the best of ourselves in our relationships with other people. But that promise didn\u2019t end with us. In fact, they told others about it, and those people found themselves in the same predicament.  <strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-154685 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/teens-3.jpg\" alt=\"teens 3\" width=\"303\" height=\"194\" \/>At that point we took the promise too, and really put our selves into it. <\/strong>We even found a \u201csign\u201d that would help ut remember the daily \u201cpact\u201d and that would support us: a wristband of white twine. We interiorized the \u201cpact\u201d and made it part of our life. Since it helped us so much, we decided to spread it around the city, telling everyone we knew about our experience with it.  This set off a chain reaction and the\u00a0 news about the \u201cpact\u201d began to spread all over Italy.
