{"id":341448,"date":"2012-10-11T12:23:45","date_gmt":"2012-10-11T10:23:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/maria-voce-on-the-second-vatican-council\/"},"modified":"2024-06-06T12:07:46","modified_gmt":"2024-06-06T10:07:46","slug":"maria-voce-on-the-second-vatican-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/maria-voce-on-the-second-vatican-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Maria Voce on the Second Vatican Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/20121011-041.jpg\"><img alt=\"\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-72068\" style=\"margin-right: 10px;border: 0px none\" src=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/20121011-041.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/movimento-dei-focolari\/\"><strong>Focolare Movement<\/strong><\/a> welcomes the invitation launched by Pope Benedict XVI at the solemn celebration that opened the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/movimento-dei-focolari\/\"><strong>Year of faith<\/strong> <\/a>and that celebrates the 50<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the beginning of the Second Vatican Council: <strong>make the beauty of the faith shine out in our time with that same \u201cemotional tension\u201d of the Council Fathers. <\/strong>  Church-communion, application of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/chiara-lubich\/spiritualita-dellunita\/la-parola\/\">Gospel in daily life<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/in-dialogo\/\">dialogues<\/a>, communion between laity and priests, the role of women and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/all-opera\/impegno-sociale\/\">the importance of society <\/a>are some of the principles \u00a0developed by \u00a0Vatican II, already in some way present in the life of the Focolare Movement from its inception.  \u201c<em>The challenges that remain open <\/em>\u2013 affirms <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/news\/2011\/01\/20\/maria-voce\/\"><strong>Maria Voce<\/strong><\/a>, president of the Focolare Movement \u2013 <em>are the ones to implement what the Council wanted to point out and to propagate more the knowledge of the contents and the novelties present in the council documents. \u2026 The maturity of the laity should contribute significantly \u2026 to the precious work of handing over the principles of Vatican II to the believing community<\/em>.\u201d  Maria Voce is participating as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/news\/2012\/09\/27\/sinodo-sulla-nuova-evangelizzazione\/\">auditor<\/a> in the session of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/news_services\/press\/sinodo\/sinodo_index_it.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>the Synod of Bishops<\/strong><\/a> on \u201cThe new evangelization for the transmission of the Christian faith.\u201d  \u201c<em>Humanity <\/em>\u2013 affirms Maria Voce \u2013 <em>needs to encounter God through love of neighbour.
