{"id":342368,"date":"2013-09-30T06:12:39","date_gmt":"2013-09-30T04:12:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/aldo-stedile-fons-has-left-us\/"},"modified":"2024-06-06T12:10:32","modified_gmt":"2024-06-06T10:10:32","slug":"aldo-stedile-fons-has-left-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/aldo-stedile-fons-has-left-us\/","title":{"rendered":"Aldo Stedile (Fons) has left us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img alt=\"\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-93095\" style=\"margin-right: 10px\" src=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Aldo_Stedile.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"269\" height=\"197\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Aldo Stedile<\/strong> (Fons) passed away last night at his residence in Rocca di Papa, Rome, aged 88 years.<\/p>\n<p>He was originally from Trent and was among the first group of people to follow the way of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/chiara-lubich\/chi-e-chiara\/\">Chiara Lubic<\/a>h at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/chiara-lubich\/chi-e-chiara\/gli-inizi\/\">beginnings of the Focolare Movement<\/a>. Together with Marco Tecilla, he started the first men&#8217;s focolare house in 1949.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He who believes in me, as the Scriptures say,<em> &#8216;From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.&#8217;<\/em> (Jn 7:38)&#8221;: this phrase from the Gospel guided the course of his life. To him was attributed the nickname <em>Fons<\/em> (&#8220;fountain&#8221; in Latin) and he was affectionately called by this name by everyone.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently lying in state in the chapel of the Focolare&#8217;s\u00a0 International Centre in Rocca di Papa. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, 2 October, at the Mariapolis Centre in Via S. Giovanni Battista De La Salle, Castelgandolfo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fons was among the first to follow the way of Chiara Lubich at the beginnings of the Focolare Movement in Trent.
