{"id":342716,"date":"2014-01-24T04:30:59","date_gmt":"2014-01-24T03:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/the-ideal-jesus-forsaken\/"},"modified":"2024-06-06T12:11:35","modified_gmt":"2024-06-06T10:11:35","slug":"the-ideal-jesus-forsaken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/the-ideal-jesus-forsaken\/","title":{"rendered":"The ideal: Jesus forsaken"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cOne day the spiritual director asked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/chiara-lubich\/chi-e-chiara\/\"><strong>Chiara<\/strong><\/a>: \u2018When in his life did the Lord suffers the most?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI suppose in the Garden of Olives\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo. In my opinion he suffered the most on the cross when he cried out: \u2018My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?\u2019 (Mt 27,46; Mk 15,34)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He left, and Chiara speaking with Dori (one of her students, and among the first to follow her, editor\u2019s note) and later with the others, began to focus her love \u2013 and her studies \u2013 on that cry: on that moment of anguish in which Christ felt abandoned even by the Father, for whom he had become man.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am convinced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.focolare.org\/en\/chiara-lubich\/spiritualita-dellunita\/gesu-abbandonato\/\"><strong>Jesus forsaken<\/strong><\/a> will be the ideal that will solve the world\u2019s problems: it will spread to all corners of the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Year after year, this conviction would have been consolidated in all kinds of trials, thanks to which her ideal was taking root among humankind.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, Jesus forsaken became Chiara\u2019s love.
