Simbolicamente, portanto, festeja-se o retorno da Luz \u00e0 sua casa de origem, a vit\u00f3ria do bem sobre o mal. Durante a festa costuma-se acender luzes, velas ou l\u00e2mpadas tradicionais, chamadas diya.
