The Focolare Movement welcomes the invitation launched by Pope Benedict XVI during the solemn celebration that marked the opening of the Year of Faith and the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council: to face the common task of making the beauty of the faith shine out in our time with the same “emotional tension” of the Council Fathers.
“The challenges still ahead ” says Maria Voce, President of the Focolare Movement “ are those concerned with implementing the teachings indicated by the Council and with making the knowledge and the novelty found in the conciliar documents become more widespread. In a population of believers, the maturity of the laity should contribute significantly to the valuable work of passing on the principles of Vatican II “.
