M. e R. Sono responsabili di una radio comunitaria, sorta nel 1988, espressione di gruppi che operano in una zona a rischio della periferia di Buenos Aires, Argentina. Raccontano:“Abbiamo subito avvertito che in quel quartiere, dove anche infrastrutture sanitarie, educative, stradali, idriche erano inesistenti, quel che mancava di più era la comunicazione a tutti livelli, dentro le istituzioni, fra di esse e la gente, fra i diversi gruppi e organizzazioni, e perfino tra le famiglie vicine. La ricerca di una nuova comunicazione è stato un compito entusiasmante per tanti di noi. Diapositive, cortometraggi, storie sonore, giornale murale, musica, teatro popolare, un giornale del quartiere arrivato a duemila copie, un megafono, una macchina fotografica, finché è maturato il progetto di una radio comunitaria”.

“I hereby officially declare open the Ordinary General Assembly of the Work of Mary, convened in accordance with the methods established by the General Statutes.” These were the words with which Margaret Karram, President of the Focolare Movement, opened the proceedings today, 1 March 2026.
The General Assembly of the Focolare Movement is about to begin
320 representatives of the Focolare Movement communities around the world will take part in the fourth General Assembly since the death of the foundress Chiara Lubich, from the 1st to the 21st of March. The Assembly will elect the new members of the governing body and will approve the guidelines for the next five years.
