“Family format”: the fruits of a journey together with Loppiano

The weekend, entitled ‘The couple's yes to God – words for life,’ saw the participation of 81 families (163 adults and 34 minors). The meeting was organised in collaboration with the National Secretariat of New Families as part of the ‘Families at Work’ programme and took place on 24-25 January.

Don Emilio Rocchi guided the reflections throughout the entire event, addressing the sacrament of marriage with both simplicity and depth:

The “Marital Position”: A reflection on conscious choice, fidelity, indissolubility, and openness to life.
The Grace of the Sacrament: A journey through the moments of the rite (consent, exchange of rings) that allowed couples to interiorly renew their “Yes”.

Saturday: Reflection and Sharing

Morning: Introduction to the spirituality of Chiara Lubich and to the Loppiano citadel. Personal and couple moments of reflection on the spiritual life of the family.
Afternoon: National Zoom meeting with other families from Italy. Open dialogue with Don Emilio and group activities to share experiences and reflections.
Evening: Special encounter with Lode from Gen Rosso, who shared his vocational testimony through music and deep reflections.

Sunday: Creativity and Family

Nazareth Model: Inspired by the 1981 Family Fest, families looked to the Holy Family as an example.
Creative Workshop: Parents and children created a “paper website” to express their identity and relationship with God. The key words that emerged? “Love” and, with a touch of fun, “Pizza”.

The event was described by participants as a “moment of heaven” and of profound inner healing, capable of helping them rediscover the meaning of their journey.
