
A couple from Croatia and their experience with the Focolare Movement’s “Paths of Light” project

The Loreto School, the freshness of the first 40 years.
This year five families from four continents are attending the school, which was inaugurated by Chiara Lubich, who also indicated the name “Loreto”. Since 1982, 500 others have participated, while almost 1,500 families have stayed for shorter periods.

In questo decimo anniversario, vogliamo rendere grazie al Signore per l’impulso dato allo studio e alla conversione pastorale della Chiesa e chiedergli il coraggio di proseguire il cammino, accogliendo sempre nuovamente il Vangelo, nella gioia di poterlo annunciare a tutti.

They are married for more than forty years, tell how the Art of Loving has illuminated their family life, supporting them in moments of joy and of difficulty. Through daily gestures, by welcoming fragile people and unforeseen challenges, they discover that concrete love can transform any situation.

The existence of struggling couples, separated couples and those in new unions is a cry for help in the world. The “New Families Movement”, a branch of the Focolare, endeavours to support these families.

“Why do I always fall for it?”, Penelope asks angrily. It happens frequently in relationships with men who use manipulative communication. Of course, Penelope is not aware of manipulation, because when we are in a dysfunctional relationship, we hardly understand its nature. Even when we are cognitively aware of it, it is not said that we cannot “fall” for it emotionally. Because the heart gets the better of the head.
