Ivanira and Pedro are a couple from Brazil who, together with their daughter Camila who studies at IUS Sophia in Loppiano, came to help the Loreto School.
The next April will return to their city, to continue to bring the ideal of unity to families.
Pedro: I came into contact with the Ideal when I was an adolescent of 12 years old at a Mariapolis.
I was very touched by what Chiara said in a video when she talked of the discovery of God as Love and her experience with her first companions. Chiara gave me the hope that it is possible to build a better and more united, fraternal world if I put Jesus at the centre of my life and love one another as if loving Jesus himself.
The Word of Life, which we receive every month, has helped us to experience te truth of the Gospel and its effects in our life.
When I got married, together Ivanira, we started to frequent the New Families meetings and we feel the presence of God in our home. Jesus tells us: Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there in the midst. The Spirituality of unity has helped us in the education of our daughters to whom we have tried to transmit, through our witness of life, the true values and the richness of the Ideal.The many experiences which we have had, showed us continually how special we are to God and how much He loves us.
Ivanira: Coming to the Loreto School has always been our dream! The couples who had come to the school had told us of their experience and how much this had contributed to a better family life.This information had increased our desire to take part and encouraged us to take the initiative to write to the Focolare Centre in Brazil and express our intentions and put our name down for the school.
We received the answer from Rome that there were many inscriptions and it would not be possible for that year. From the Focolare they proposed us we should go to the St. Rita School at the Mariapoli Ginetta in San Paolo. We immediately accepted and with great joy lived in the citadel for a year and were part of this community where Love is the law.
We thought ;now we have taken part in the school at San Paolo going to Loppiano will not be possible any more.
Anymore, in April came a surprise: we received the confirmation that we could still come to the Loreto School this year.
We began to organise the journey and we arrived at Loppiano on the 20th June 2017.
The experience lived at the Scuola Loreto was a challenge, not only for learning the Italian language that we did not know so well, but to grow in the art of loving, especially in difficult times.
Now we came back to Brazil happy and grateful to God and to Chiara to have lived this experience.
