First training launched.

Together for New Africa has launched its first training programme running from 1 – 8 January 2019. The training consist of a 3 year programme for around 100 young people coming from Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, DRC, Uganda, South Sudan and Kenya. The training is exploring interdisciplinary, intercultural and multi-perspective paths for a New Leadership in Africa.

The first day started on a high note and the participants shared their experiences on how they prepared themselves for this programme through songs, dances and poems.

At the heart of the training is the content of leadership and it provides an interdisciplinary look at Africa. Interdisciplinary will also be the confrontation between tradition and modernity, between nationalism and universalism of the continent, between challenges and opportunities. The thematic sessions will address political and economic situations in Africa, and in particular the Eastern macro-region: the phenomena of corruption, identity ethnic conflicts, the position of African in international relations, the present and potential role of the African Union.

The course aims at young people between the age of 20 – 35 years from EAC and DRC, who already have completed two years of university studies and are involved in some form of leadership role in their communities of origin (animators of associations, groups, political-social movements, with the ability to involve other young people in the project – young people who have a vocation to act in the public life of society).
