On 8 May 2021 at a traffic light in the city of Porto Alegre (Brazil), Lorenzo, aged 24, and his mother, Themis, saw a poor man with a sign: “I’m hungry, help me”. This is how the project “Troque-a-fome-por-flor” (Swap hunger for a flower) began. The result is a network of florists and volunteers that now employs more than 70 people and is also spreading to other cities in Brazil. https://vimeo.com/619912229
Be involved in dialogue
The General Assembly has begun in earnest with intense dialogue and collaborative work. From the 6th to the 11th of March, everyone at the Assembly is exploring nine topics that emerged from proposals received from individuals and communities of the Movement around the world.
The Emergency Coordination Team of the Focolare Movement is renewing its appeal for solidarity to help thousands of families fleeing their homes.
An invitation that echoes the Resurrection and opens the way to a new life based not on our own strength, but on the grace of God who conquers every fear. Even in difficulties and crises, the love of Christ is present and, if lived in communion with others, is capable of giving even greater courage and hope to begin again.
