In the heart of Ecuador’s Amazon rainforest lies the Pompeya focolare, in the Vicariate of Aguarico. This initiative has been running for several years now, with the charism of unity contributing to intercultural understanding, dialogue and human development.
A conference entitled, “A Mediterranean without Borders: Peoples Connected in a Network for Fraternity”, organized by the Focolare Movement, took place in Palermo, Italy, from Wednesday 7th-Sunday 11th October.
The goal: to cooperate in building a more united world, inspired by Jesus’ prayer to the Father
“may they all be one” (Jn 17:21),
respecting and valuing diversity.
The Movement, which started in the Catholic Church,
includes Christians of different Churches and ecclesial communities. It collaborates with members of other religions and people of non-religious beliefs.
