This year five families from four continents are attending the school, which was inaugurated by Chiara Lubich, who also indicated the name “Loreto”. Since 1982, 500 others have participated, while almost 1,500 families have stayed for shorter periods.
The existence of struggling couples, separated couples and those in new unions is a cry for help in the world. The “New Families Movement”, a branch of the Focolare, endeavours to support these families.
We have asked Dr. Peter Dettwiler, a Swiss Reformed theologian and pastor who has been involved in ecumenical dialogue for decades, to give us his contribution on the Apostolic Exhortation: Amoris Laetitia.

Each ecclesial reality is invited to consider those that it considers possible to implement or implement at the local level according to its own conditions and needs.
This publication now brings together in a single printable digital version the 10 guides, accompanying the special edition with the collection of 10 videos of the pope in dialogue with families (already individually available on the website www.amorislaetitia.va).
With these words the Holy Father introduces us to the theme of the education of children, which is “a call, a challenge, a joy”.
Developed within the Focolare Movement, Up2Me has been piloted so far in 28 countries. It grew from the need frequently expressed by children and youth who find themselves facing big issues like life, health, sexuality, modern life styles, emotions, future life choices … without adequate tools to deal with them.
