[more] The joint UK and Ireland summer gathering of Focolare took place at Liverpool Hope University from 28th July to 2nd August with the title “Signs of Hope”. Each day explored aspects of Hope: Hope for Community, Hope for Everyone, Hope for our World, Hope for tomorrow and Hope for dialogue, a morning dedicated to inter-religious dialogue. Speakers were Muslim scholar Dr.Mohammad Shomali, Hindu leader Dr. Puri and Roman Catholic Bishop Brendan Leahy.

Large Irish contingent travel to joint Ireland / UK hosted summer gathering of Focolare in Liverpool. “Here we are almost at the 100th anniversary of 1916, signing up with England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in a moment of unity, of reconciliation, of prayer. It is a poignant moment,” remarks Bishop Brendan Leahy.
[more]From 2nd-5th July last, up to 30 young people from across the country, gathered in Curryhills House (the Focolare HQ in Ireland) to see if it was possible to build a bridge of peace. The answer was a clear YES – the bridge of peace had been built!
