“We have experienced that our differences are not a motive for division, but represent a multiplicity of gifts and of resourcefulness. Together we have seen that unity is possible, unity does not annull identities but re-enforces them.” This is how the decleration proclaimed at the Square Meeting Centre started, at the conclusion of the day “Together forEurope”.

144 cities from all overEurope, linked up together, gave witness to the path undertaken over the last ten years, and opened other prospects for the future. FromBreslavia,Poland, toBelfast,Ireland. FromOslo,Norway, toValletta,Malta. Multiple initiatives involving persons of all ages, conditions and beliefs.

The day of the 12th May has shown a variety of ideas and of concrete experiences that permit all those who adhere to Together for Europe to say at the end of the declaration: Today we want to affirm with decision that our brotherhood is at the service of unity and of peace ofEurope and of all the human family.”
