Luigi Butori is an Italian focolarino living in Ho Chi Minh City. After over 20 years in Asia, he has seen its great beauty but also dramatic situations and contrasts. In the heart of Ecuador’s Amazon rainforest lies the Pompeya focolare, in the Vicariate of Aguarico. This initiative has been running for several years now, with the charism of unity contributing to intercultural understanding, dialogue and human development.
A conference entitled, “A Mediterranean without Borders: Peoples Connected in a Network for Fraternity”, organized by the Focolare Movement, took place in Palermo, Italy, from Wednesday 7th-Sunday 11th October.
Through applied research, meetings and public initiatives, this interdisciplinary forum aims to explore the universal vocation of this city and its significance not only for those living in the Holy Land, but for the whole human family.
