Best wishes for Ramadan

Jun 9, 2016

In this holy month of fasting for Muslims, where prayers and works of mercy are lived with an ever greater intensity, particularly in caring for those who suffer, we ask that the God of Mercy may bestow a special blessing on us all and together we ask for the gift of Peace.

Ramadan“May glory be upon you my Lord, He who is the Adored One, the One to be adored, the Eternal One, who existed from all times, who loves us, whose Mercy and Power embrace the universe (…). You are the Adored One, Oh Lord, You are the Master who loves and forgives. Your forgiveness and Your mercy are infinite, Oh Lord, You help those who are afflicted, the Consoler in every grief, the Refuge for those whose heart is broken.” (From a prayer by Ali ibn Abi Talib, cousin and son-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad)

The risen Jesus gives the disciples peace and joy and entrusts them with his very own mission. The Holy Spirit “recreates” them as a new humanity and this vocation, today, concerns not only each of us, but is fully realized when we are “community” and support for the other. This is how the Gospel becomes life and the mission a new Pentecost.

Lebanon: Being Sparks of Life

A group of children in Rome collected 300 euros for the Audio Phonetic Rehabilitation Institute (IRAP) located in Aïn, on the outskirts of Biakout, north of Beirut. They received a very touching letter of thanks. It reminds us of the true value of solidarity and the responsibility to which each of us is called: to be seeds of hope and peace even in the darkness.
