The glory of the Resurrection in all of creation

Apr 1, 2018

"Today you are alive in every creature in your risen glory." From Pope Francis' Christian prayer in union with creation (Laudato Si' N. 246) A hymn to nature as sign of the presence and tenderness of God.

Father, we praise you with all your creatures. They came forth from your all-powerful hand; they are yours, filled with your presence and your tender love. Praise be to you! Son of God, Jesus, through you all things were made. You were formed in the womb of Mary our Mother, you became part of this earth, and you gazed upon this world with human eyes. Today you are alive in every creature in your risen glory. Praise be to you! Holy Spirit, by your light you guide this world towards the Father’s love and accompany creation as it groans in travail. You also dwell in our hearts and you inspire us to do what is good. Praise be to you!   Source: Pope Francis, Encyclical Letter Laudato Si’ on the care for the common home (A Christian Prayer for creation, 246)

Brotherhood

Brotherhood

Brotherhood, being children of the same Father, can be the root of every kind of pacifism. In this excerpt from the “Catholic Revolt”, Igino Giordani wrote almost an invocation, a poetic appeal that compels us to look up and opens our eyes to who our brother is, that brother who may be labelled as an enemy, as a foreigner, as a migrant, but is always a brother. It is an appeal written back in 1925, that still touches our deepest chords and challenges us to be builders of peace.
