聖保祿的這句勸諭承接著一個重大的宣講，那就是整部褔音的中心——天主在基督內使世界與祂自己和好(參閱格後5：19)。
由於天主聖子在十字架上的死亡，給了我們一個最大的佐證——祂愛我們。祂藉著基督的十字架，與我們修和了。
我們信仰中的這端基本真理，在今天的確相當適合時宜。它是整個人類所期待的啟示——上主以祂的愛去親近所有的人，更熱切地愛著每一個人。即使我們想到與這訊息相反的事物，但是世界實在需要這訊息，我們必須首先向自己不斷地宣講：直到我們真的感到被上主的這份愛所包圍，我們才能向他人宣講。
「……因基督的名請求你們，與天主和好罷！」(格後5：20)
這份對天主的愛的信念不能只關閉在每個人的心中。聖保祿說得好：天主給了我們一項職務，就是使他人與祂和好(參閱格後5：18)，使每個基督徒負起重要的責任，為上主對受造物的愛作見證。那麼,我們要怎樣做呢？
我們所有的言行舉止要令我們所宣講的真理具有可信性。耶穌清楚地說過，當我們在祭壇前要獻禮品時，先要與那些因著某些事而怨恨我們的弟兄修和 (參閱瑪5：23-24)。
我們首先要在自己的團體內實踐出這個勸諭，就是在我們的家庭、組別、團體、教會等。換句話說，我們是被召叫去撤除一切在人與人之間及民族之間有礙於建立和諧關係的藩籬……
「……因基督的名請求你們，與天主和好罷！」
「因基督之名」表示「代表基督」。身為祂的代表，便應與祂一起生活，又像祂那樣生活。讓我們彼此相愛，如同祂愛我們一樣，以開放的胸襟及毫無偏見地去接納，並欣賞近人的優點，甚至隨時準備為對方犧牲性命。這就是耶穌給我們首要的命令，亦是基督徒的標誌。為初期追隨基督的人們，以致為今天的我們，同樣有效！
要實踐這句聖言就是說要成為修和者。
如此，假若我們的一舉一動，一言一談都充滿著愛，我們便能達到肖似耶穌的境界，而我們就能夠像祂一樣，給別人帶來喜樂、希望、融洽與平安，也就是說，我們能給人帶來那與上主修和了的世界(參閱格後5：19)，這是一切受造物所期待的。

This month’s Word of Life is very impressive for me.
Especially following sentence awakens me so I can deepen my understanding of the New Commandment.
Jesus says ‘As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you’ (Jn 15:9). He loved us, therefore, with the very same love with which he and the Father love one another.
And it is with this same love that we must love one another in order to carry out the ‘new’ commandment.
‘New’ means that it is made for the ‘new age’.
Meditating these phrase, I take some time for self-examination how I have lived my life with unenthusiastic and half-hearted attitude.
Chiara emphasized that modern men want to hear real life’s story to live with mutual love, not the sermon on that topic.
From now on, thanks to the Holy Spirit we can try to carry out this New Commandment for our brothers and sisters whom God loves to the utmost extreme.
