On March 2-5, 2017,the School of Dialogue with Oriental Religions (SOR) will hold another important Pan-Asian formation course at the Mariapolis Center, Tagaytay City. The theme of the said course is “Harmony among Peoples and Religions Today” with Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle as the main speaker. It will coincide with the conclusion of the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the Focolare Movement in Asia. The course will highlight the inter-religious experience of the Focolare with some major religions of Asia: Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam. You may email sortagaytay@gmail.com for more information. Il convegno è promosso dalla Providence University in collaborazione con il Dharma Drum Arts, l’ Istituto Universitario Sophia dell’italia, Fu Jen Catholic University di Taiwan e altre istituzioni accademiche in Taiwan e all’estero. Tra i partecipanti figurano, il professor del Dharma Drum delle Arti e Scienze, così come docenti di Sophia dall’Italia, professori e studiosi delle università degli Stati Uniti, monaci e studiosi provenienti da Thailandia, Giappone, Corea del Sud e altri gruppi religiosi. Dal 2004, il Movimento dei Focolari tiene un simposio buddhista-cristiano ogni due anni in diverse città. I Simposii tra Buddhisti (Mahayana e Theravada) e cristiani sono stati tappe importanti per rafforzare la reciproca fiducia sulla base del rispetto per l’altro e lavorare insieme per realizzare questo primo incontro a Taiwan.
