An event organised by the Focolare Movement in Ireland. The daylong event takes place on SATURDAY 27th JUNE 202O. Living in the uncertain times of Covid 19, the event is online, but we believe, notwithstanding this, it will be a moment of real joy and hope for us all as we contemplate how the light of Christ’s presence, promised in the gospel: ‘Where two or more are gathered in my name…. (Mat 18:20)’ – enlightens every aspect of our lives – from home to society.

MORNING PLENARY SESSION

11.00 am – 12.00pm    

UNFOLDING A NEW LIGHT with input and experiences from people of all ages

12.00pm                               (Online Catholic Mass for those who wish to attend).

 

AFTERNOON BREAKOUT WORKSHOPS / WEBINARS:

A NEW LIGHT IN THE FAMILY led by New families
We explore how to keep the flame of love alive in the family and thus be aware of the presence of Jesus among us.

THE GREAT SUMMER GATHERING BAKE OFF
Cook some treats and get great baking tips. The recipes and what information on ingredients and any equipment you need will be sent to you on registering

JESUS AMONG US – A LIGHT FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY
In this webinar Christians from different Churches explore how Chiara Lubich’s insights into “Where two or more …”(Mt 18:20) can contribute towards Christian Unity.
This ecumenical hour sees Bishops, pastors and laity sharing their experiences and the fruits of living these words of Jesus. There will also be time for dialogue.

TEENS4TEENS (AGE 9 -18) WITH GEN VERDE led by Teen4unity
Program organised by teens4unity for teenagers sharing who they are through games and experiences. As part of the programme there will be a special contribution of songs and experiences from the international performance group Gen Verde.

4.30pm to 5.30pm

ALL YOU’VE EVER WANTED TO ASK ABOUT FOCOLARE
Question and answer session.  Please provide questions by 22 June. We hope this workshop will clarify the questions that people new to the spirituality may have.

KNIT-WORKING – An hour of knitting and nattering. Bring you needles or crotchet hooks to go ahead with your own project or knit a square for a blanket. (You will be e mailed a pattern). This is also an opportunity to introduce ourselves and share our experiences /reflections  with one another. We can also pool patterns , initiatives and the joys and sufferings of knitworking!

NAVIGATING SOME ASPECTS OF WELLBEING IN THE NEW NORMAL
This workshop looks at some practical steps we can take to help improve our wellbeing in these difficult times.

FAMILY GAMES AND ARTS AND CRAFTS – run by THE TEENS
Inviting  children with their families to have half an hour of fun games and half an hour of arts and crafts. We can’t wait to have you join our hour of fun together.

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT:
8.00 – 9.00pm  FOCOLARE FAMILY PARTY – A moment of craic and relaxation
