We can keep our hearts anchored in heaven while living in the midst of the world, by letting ourselves be guided by the thoughts and feelings of Jesus whose inner gaze was always turned to the Father and whose life always reflected the law of heaven which is the law of love.

Live as children of light: for the fruit of the light is found in all
that is good and right and true. (Eph. 5:8-9)

You are the God who sees me (cf. Gen 16:13).
We too can be messengers of God’s love because we are held safe in his presence. Indeed, we are called to see the needs of others, to help our neighbours when they feel they are ‘alone in the desert’ and to share their joys and sorrows.

Learn to do good; seek justice (Is 1:17)

Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have  an everlasting rock (Is 26:4).
