On Friday 26 April, Rhiannon Copeland was the ‘guest visitor’. The title of her presentation was ‘Changing Perspectives’. Rhiannon very movingly spoke about her previous role as a community support worker in South London where she worked with adults with a learning disability, to support them to lead independent lives. We were blown away by the things she shared with us; the sensitivity with which she entered the lives of people either with disabilities or from disadvantaged backgrounds, and the way she identified with them at a very profound level.
She talked about what she learned in the role and how it continues to have an impact on her today. Rhiannon discovered that each person has something precious to give regardless of outward appearances.
