The Scottish community is aware that some young people want to attend Genfest in Brazil this summer. We asked ourselves “How can we support them?”
Veronica who had attended Genfest around 1990 had an idea. She is part of Croy Community Choir, so she asked them if they would stage a concert to help raise funds. With great generosity, the choir agreed and with the support of the parish of St Joseph’s in Cumbernauld a venue was found.
Afterwards some of the audience commented:
“Well done to Veronica and her choir! The fundraising concert for Genfest last night was a wonderful occasion, full of joy. Really uplifting.”
“What a good evening and so much generosity from choir, preparation team, raffle donations and all who came and those who contributed, an enjoyable lovely evening with an atmosphere of family and love.”
“The next day, people from the parish commented very positively on the concert. Everyone had nothing but praise and how much they enjoyed it.”
The event raised over £700.
